In addition to the VAF9 Form, you also need to submit a completed Appendix 8 form. It can be found on this link:
This is a mandatory form and requires you to list down how many points you have secured in the Maintenance, Attributes and English sections. You also have to list down the level of qualification that you are going for. Usually you will fall under Level 7 of the NFS ranking if you are opting for a full undergrad or postgrad degree. Your English Language requirements will also have to be stated – either by mentioning your IELTS score, or opting for ‘My Sponsor is a Higher Education Institute and has assessed my English language requirement themselves’ on the form. Your sponsor must check that you are competent at a minimum level of CEFR B1 for courses below NQF level 6 and at CEFR level B2 for courses at NQF level 6 and above.
Moreover, always ensure that details of how much tuition or accommodation fee you have already paid is included by your university or sponsor in the CAS that they issue you. A lot of times, the universities fail to enter deposits in the CAS, which leads to a lot of hassle. Once you’re done filling out your Appendix 8 form, make sure to print out two copies to hand into the authorities for your biometric visa appointment.
